FAQs: Park Pool, Ormskirk – West Lancashire Borough Council

Park Pool Leisure Centre will be temporarily closing its gym and pool facilities from Thursday 5 February until the end of week commencing 9 February as we carry out essential boiler maintenance.

The issue requires prompt action to ensure the continued safety and comfort of customers. Works will commence on Friday 6 February, and we’re working hard to complete them promptly so we can welcome you back at the end of next week – fully refreshed and ready for action!

The Park Pool team has worked swiftly to address the matter and minimise disruption to users. During this brief closure, customers are encouraged to make use of alternative facilities operated by West Lancs Leisure:

Burscough Wellbeing & Leisure Hub: Gym and group fitness classes
Nye Bevan, Skelmersdale: Swimming pool, gym, and class offerings

If you have any questions, please contact Park Pool on 01695 583 381.

FAQs:

Why does the gym have to close?

The boiler having been turned off means there is no hot waterin the entire building for our customers to wash their hands and for the facilities to stay sanitary.

How long will it take for the hot water to turn back on?

Once a new boilers system has been installed successfully and turned back on, the water will start to heat up again. We are hoping this won’t take more than a couple of days.

What do I do if I use a different West Lancs Leisure facility?

Go to the reception desk at the facilities and present your membership card.

How will I know when the centre has reopened?

We will update our social media, the website and send an email to all our members and customers to update them on the progress of the works and reopening of the centre.

At Park Pool we offer a fantastic range of facilities suitable for all ages and abilities, including a fully air-conditioned gym, two swimming pools and a studio where we hold a variety of workout classes, including our virtual spin sessions.
