POOL INFORMATION
Swimming lessons
At Park Pool we run swimming lessons for all abilities from babies to adults following the Swim England Program. Lessons run Monday – Sunday for 50 weeks of the year and can be started at any time. Lessons are 30-minutes.

Family and Child admissions policy
Pool Criteria
The admission criteria detailed below is based on national guidance issued by the following governing bodies, The institute of sport & recreation Management (ISRM), Swim England, The Royal Lifesaving Society (RLSS) and the Royal society for the Prevention of Accidents (ROSPA)
All Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by a responsible person of 16 years or above.
The responsible person must go into the water with the child/children they are accompanying.
Whilst in the pool the responsible person should maintain a constant watch over the child/children they are accompanying and be in close contact with children who are weak or non-swimmers.
Weak/non-swimmers must wear armbands and are restricted to the shallow end of the main pool.
Important reminder – If your child attends swimming lessons and they are under the age of 8, they are not permitted entry into the main pool before or after their swimming lesson unless accompanied by an adult. Lifeguards reserve the right to remove any swimmer who is in breach of the guidance stated above.

Under 4’s – One adult to one child in the MAIN POOL.
4-8 Years – One adult to Two children
Rules for the pool
To improve your swim, we ask that you:
Shower before entering the pool.
Read and obey all signs! Familiarise yourself with the pool’s depths!
Always follow the lifeguard’s instructions.
Wear a buoyancy aid and stay within safe standing depth if necessary.
Do not eat or drink alcohol immediately prior to swimming.
Tie back long hair
We encourage the use of protective reusable blue overshoes which are available at reception for 50p.

FAQs
Yes, we have a disabled access ramp into the ground floor of the building to gain access to the weights area, pool and changing rooms. In addition to this, we have a pool hoist which allows disabled access to the main pool.

Yes, you can freeze your membership for up to 3 months with a £5 monthly charge. To Freeze Your membership, call 01695 727111.
To cancel any membership, you must send your 1 calendar month notice to the following address- wlbcmembership@westlancs.gov.uk
There is free public parking to the side of the building and additional free parking on the retail park at the rear of the building.
For the pool our lockers are padlock operated which are available to hire for £5 at reception, our gym lockers are operated using a 50p coin.
Yes. You can pay with both cash and card at Nye Bevan.
Yes, you can watch our swimming lessons from the viewing balcony, situated on the second floor.
No, we have separate male and female changing rooms.
Yes, we have a snack and drinks vending machine as well as ice creams available for purchase.
Yes, public Wi-Fi is available at Nye Bevan.
Yes, the free weight area is situated on the ground floor.
Last entry into Nye Bevan for any use of facilities is 45 Minutes prior to closing time.
